Firehawk Aerospace is a propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company based in the Dallas, TX area. Firehawk is looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Engineer to support our mission of creating cutting-edge defense solutions while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility. The Safety Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that Firehawk Aerospace maintains the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental protection throughout its operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as industry-specific standards and guidelines.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments of workplace environments, processes, and equipment to identify potential hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire, chemical spills, and other potential emergencies. Conduct drills and training to prepare employees.
  • Environmental Management: Manage and oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, air quality, and water quality, to minimize the company's environmental footprint.
  • Health and Safety Policies: Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring that employees are well-informed and compliant with safety guidelines.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, providing comprehensive root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Safety Training: Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring that Firehawk Aerospace maintains a positive relationship with relevant authorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance EHS programs, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure the highest level of safety and environmental protection.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing, aerospace,or defense industry setting.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and lead by example.
  • Familiarity with emergency response and incident investigation procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards is a plus.

Highly Desired:

  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA-1910
  • Previous industry experience with OSHA-3912-03
  • Previous industry experience with NFPA-484

Firehawk Aerospace is a propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company based in the Dallas, TX area.  Firehawk is seeking an aerospace electrical technician, whose primary responsibilities would include taking part in test operations, general fabrication, and troubleshooting of components.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and test electrical hardware
  • Hands-on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
  • Fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Take part in hazardous testing operations
  • Perform system-level troubleshooting and maintenance of test stand equipment and hardware
  • Frequent on-site work at West Texas Test Sites

 

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years experience with hands-on work in the aerospace or related field
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Basic understanding of the operation of sensor types used to measure temperature, pressure, flow, and displacement
  • Experience routing/installing, terminating and repairing electrical wiring
  • Experience building connectors and creating terminations
  • Experience using crimp tools
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and well document work performed
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience with hands on work in the aerospace or related field
  • Experience designing, building, or testing circuit boards or other electronics
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting data acquisition systems
  • Proficient in the use of Visio
  • Active or Previous Security Clearance

Firehawk is seeking an Inventory/Receiving Specialist, whose primary responsibilities include managing material handling and inventory control from the point of receipt to job allocation. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a dock/inventory/outgoing shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material handling and inventory control from receipt to job allocation
  • Oversee dock operations, inventory management, and outgoing shipments
  • Ensure compliance with packaging, storage, and material handling procedures
  • Gather, retain, and recall a variety of facts and data in written and/or verbal form to achieve work tasks and duties
  • Understand the criticality of materials and their impact on operations
  • Apply knowledge of transportation, shipping, receiving, and storage procedures to identify potential requirements and impacts (e.g., Electrostatic Discharge [ESD], hazardous material, OSHA, EHS)
  • Handle hazardous materials in a warehouse environment
  • Operate forklifts (over 15,000-lb lift capacity) or related equipment
  • Work within a computer-based inventory management system or warehouse management system

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express, DHL, and Domestic and International Express Mail processes
  • Keen understanding of standard packaging, storage, and material handling procedures
  • General knowledge of transportation, shipping, receiving, and storage procedures to understand and identify potential requirements and impacts (e.g., Electrostatic Discharge [ESD], hazardous material, OSHA, EHS)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with hazardous materials in the warehouse environment
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating forklifts (over 15,000-lb lift capacity) or related equipment
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a computer-based inventory management system or warehouse management system
  • Ability to gather, retain, and recall a variety of facts and data in written and/or verbal form for the achievement of work tasks and duties
  • Understanding the criticality of materials and their impact on operations
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly
  • Must have strong Excel skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace manufacturing background
  • Knowledge of aerospace procedures
  • Previous inspection experience
  • Forklift certified
  • CDL certification
